Overview
Previously, a camera issue could go undetected until footage was needed and found to be missing. Dashcam Faults changes that by automatically monitoring the health of your Clarity Edge cameras and surfacing issues before they become bigger problems.
Fleet managers can now proactively monitor camera health directly from the Dashcams page in MyEROAD and Core360, giving you the visibility to act early rather than discovering a failure after a safety incident or insurance claim.
What's New
Automated camera health checks: The Clarity Edge automatically checks the health of your cameras. If a fault is detected, it appears on the Dashcams page. Once the issue is resolved, the fault clears automatically and no manual action is needed.
Fault detection across camera types: Faults are detected for road, driver, fatigue, side, and rear cameras (SD card detection applies to both SD card slots).
Built-in repair guidance: Each fault includes step-by-step troubleshooting instructions to help you resolve issues quickly.
Filter by fleet group: Quickly identify affected vehicles across large fleets.
Export fault data: Export fault data to Excel for reporting and fleet health tracking.
How it Works
The Clarity Edge performs an automated health check.
If a fault is detected, it appears on the Dashcams page.
Once the issue is resolved, the fault automatically clears — no manual intervention is needed.
Faults detected:
Fault | What It Means |
Camera unavailable | A camera isn't sending video to the dashcam. This may be due to a loose connection or camera fault. Footage could be interrupted until fixed. Applies to road, driver, fatigue, side, and rear cameras. |
SD Card undetected | No SD card detected — video recording or saving may be blocked. Supports both SD card slots. |
Lens covered | Camera lens appears covered or obstructed, potentially impacting footage quality and safety event detection. Applies to road, driver, fatigue, side, and rear cameras. |
Activation
Access to Dashcam Faults on the Dashcams page requires the Dashcam Fleet Manager or Dashcam Device Manager role. No other setup is needed, faults are surfaced automatically once you have the required role.
